The fee must be paid before playing in another tournament.
CLOSEST TO PIN
The concept of having all groups play for the closest to the pin on all par 3’s has been successful. Over the season. all groups were fairly represented.
Pleaser keep on mind that Groups C and D play from the forward tees and Groups A and B play from the back tees.
Website
We have established a website for the MSGA (ww.manitobaseniorgolfassociation.ca) to serve members and to attract new members. Application forms are available on the website for new members as well as other interesting news.
AGM Costs
The Annual General Meeting lunch will cost $25.00. New and returning members paying for their annual dues at the same time should make out a single cheque, payable to the MSGA as follows: All members — $70.00 (includes dues, and lunch).

Rule of Play
With full or large registrations for each tournament, speed of play becomes very important. PLEASE PLAY READY GOLF, that is, if you are ready to make your shot or putt, do it rather than waiting for another player to do it first because he happens to be further away. There are many ways to speed up play, most of them just common sense, Please be considerate of others behind you. Members will be reminded throughout the season of the need to keep up the pace.
Liability
Golfers are responsible for any damages they cause to carts and facilities at the various golf courses where tournaments are held.
Membership
Larry Strachan, our Secretary will present a membership report at the AGM.
Cuts
Sometimes a tournament gets over-subscribed and cuts are necessary. In these cases the Tournament Chair will make the cuts. No tournament will schedule more than 144 players — 2 groups per hole.
Only the Tournament Chair will make cut decisions and he will be the only person to notify the member of the cut. If you are registered and have heard nothing from him, you will be golfing.
Cuts are made on a rotational basis based on records maintained over a period of several years. No member will be cut from more than one tournament per season. New members will not be cut from a tournament in their first season with the MSGA.
Handicapping & Scores
MSGA subscribes to a handicapping software package and it is used to determine Individual handicaps, according to scores handed in after each tournament. Since the system requires a minimum of 5 scores to determine a specific handicap, the Scores and Handicap Chair will set a handicap for new members after 5 games. We will allow new players without handicap to compete as part of A Group until their handicap is determined. Once a handicap is determined, members will be eligible to win prizes based on handicap groupings or net scores.
A scorecard given to each player on registration at each tournament will contain the member’s current handicap, grouping and the hole from which they will begin the tournament. This scorecard must be handed in at the end of each tournament to get credit for a game played. There are 4 handicap groups – A to D – and these levels will be determined by the Scores and Handicap Chair.
Minimum Games Requirement
Members are expected to participate in at least five (5) tournaments over the course of the season to maintain their “Active Member” status.
Pine Ridge Wind Up
There are 144 spots available at Pine Ridge. Those playing spots will be awarded to the members that play the most games during the season.
